Let's Talk

A design process that will make your website convert.

Understanding a clients business and the goals behind the purpose of the website is a fundamental part of my process. Strategies will be created to achieve these goals when the blueprint of the website structure (called a sitemap) and page layouts is being determined.

Low fidelity wireframes are then constructed to better visualize the concept and lock in the overall design.  During this phase content is also being written.

Finally the styling of the pages and the actual building of the website commences.

About

After graduating in 1995 from Sheridan College for Computer Programing and Systems Analyst with High-Honors, I started designing and developing financial reporting systems and other business tools for a software company. I also gained experience on servers and networks by managing the file, database, email, DNS, and web servers. Technology is consistently evolving, so to stay on top of the latest tools and strategies and to broaden my overall experience, I earned several Microsoft certifications as well.

By the early 2000’s I had moved on and expanded into building websites using everything from a simple text editor to code HTML, to using tools like Microsoft Frontpage and Adobe Dreamweaver (it was developed by Macromedia back then).

This was the time when Content Management Systems (CMS) started to appear. A CMS gives a website a framework that a developer can build on and add features to by using custom code and plugins to extend functionality.

I quickly adapted and started using a open-source CMS for all my web projects. I participated in CMS projects like Joomla and Geeklog, developing code (PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) not only for plugins, but for the actual content management system itself. Along with development, I donated my time and mentored student developers in programs like Google Summer of Code.

By 2010 I had started eSilverStrike Consulting which had me marketing other companies’ products and services online via websites I had designed and built (NDA Protected). These websites used search engine optimization (SEO) strategies to gain organic (free) traffic along with paid advertising campaigns.

Since 2018 I started using WordPress exclusively for all website work moving forward.
